Living with white

At Whiteport, we're always being asked for advice on how to live with white. There seems to be a popular misconception that white is impractical to live with and is only for homes without children. If this was true, then surely white would not be the most universally favoured paint colour. From furniture to walls to cupboards, it is the one colour that truly works on all fronts.

Dulux have published their winning colours. Is it any coincidence that the top 2 most popular colours in Australia are white? No. 1 is Antique White USA and No. 2 is Whisper White. Ralph Lauren has over 60 shades of white in their paint range and the largest paint manufacturer in the US, Benjamin Moore, offers over 200 shades of white.

All this says that decorating with white is not to be feared. It's versatile, timeless and never boring. That's proven over and over again by weddings — we never tire of looking at them.
